NL5: bottom set vs weird line
so, no reads on villain, except I've seen other villains pull this line with draws or total air.
Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.02/$0.05 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter) SB: $11.33 BB: $5.30 UTG: $16.12 Hero (CO): $7.62 BTN: $7.85 Preflop: Hero is dealt (5 Players) UTG calls $0.05, Hero raises to $0.25, BTN folds, SB calls $0.23, 2 folds Flop: ($0.60) (2 Players) SB bets $0.05, Hero raises to $0.70, SB calls $0.65 Uncalled bet of $0.00 returned to SB Turn: ($2) (2 Players) SB bets $0.05, Hero raises to $3.00, SB calls $2.95 River: ($8) (2 Players) SB bets $0.05, Hero ??? I raised each street because they will pay-off with a draw, sometimes with top pair. On the river I'm not sure if a raise is better than a call? |

Re: NL5: bottom set vs weird line
I think I call here. Because you only have $3.67 left. If you shove I cant see him calling with a worse hand (maybe 2 pair) but his calling range has you beat. If you raise a small amount $1 he will think you didnt like the flush hitting and shove (if he has a brain), and you will need to decide wheter to call off your stack anyways (should be an easy decision with so much already invested).

lets not get silly, it's NL5 [/ QUOTE ] That is why I didnt go too deep. He will think you didnt like the flush but he wont realize that you have commited yourself and he might shove when he has absolutly no FE. |

Re: NL5: bottom set vs weird line
Im saying a small raise may induce a shove that is a bluff he may also have a better hand than you. I would just call the .05 and hope he flips over 2 pair. If you shove and he calls I think you are behind his range. If you bet $1 you are commited and you are probably putting all of your chips in the pot (here you may be beating his range due to him making a really stupid bluff).
I still call. |

Re: NL5: bottom set vs weird line
This line looks like villain has a hand like TPTK or top two. It seems to follow the "I have a hand. I will bet." idea. I think they would be slowplaying something like a set and they wouldn't be betting a flush draw. Given that it's a strange line for villain to take I would probably call knowing that I'm probably missing out on some value. I still think you're ahead of his range here.

Re: NL5: bottom set vs weird line
This really looks like a a drawing hand. One of the draws just hit and I don't know if he'll call a raise w/a hand that I beat so I just call river.

Re: NL5: bottom set vs weird line
They look like blocking bets, don't they? I would be tempted to raise for value.
