NL10 SB complete -> weak pair -> two pair
Hi there,
as always, advice needed, all comments very welcome, thanks in advance! I guess check-calling the river would have been better, right? <u>Reads:</u> The player to my left is terrible, the other guy is almost unknown, but first hints are there that he might very well be loose-passive. He definitly seems to be kinda loose preflop, but I canīt tell up to what degree. Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.05/$0.10 Blinds - 9 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter) Hero (SB): $10.00 BB: $1.50 UTG: $2.75 UTG+1: $17.40 MP1: $9.30 MP2: $7.95 MP3: $5.45 CO: $18.50 BTN: $1.75 Preflop: Hero is dealt T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (9 Players) UTG folds, UTG+1 calls $0.10, 5 folds, Hero calls $0.05, BB checks Flop: ($0.30) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 Players) <font color="red">Hero bets $0.30</font>, BB calls $0.30, UTG+1 calls $0.30 <font color="blue"> Can this bet be profitable? villain to my left has a random hand, the other guy - letīs see. But then, I know they like to play any ace, those loose unknowns. So should I just have said to myself, ok, I played that hand hoping for a straight draw, I rather check-fold or check-call here?</font> Turn: ($1.20) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 Players) <font color="red">Hero bets $1.10</font>, BB calls all-in for $1.10, UTG+1 calls $1.10 <font color="blue"> Ok, the guy to my left has connected to the flop in some way, maybe only a gutshot or a backdoor flush draw. If he has a pair, I expect that I can get his money. The other guy, oh well. I donīt have the nuts or close to it, but as I think he probably doesnīt play very well, I now welcome the possibility that he likes to play any ace. (I guess I am ahead.)</font> River: ($4.50) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 Players - 1 All-In) <font color="red">Hero bets $3.10</font>, UTG+1 calls $3.10 <font color="blue"> I bet for value. Is this too loose, considering the hand range that he might have if he calls? </font> |

Re: NL10 SB complete -> weak pair -> two pair
Your flop semi-bluff lead to a decent hand. I bet probably half the pot on the river. You get worse hands to call that would check behind. Basically if he has a pair of aces you want him to call.

Re: NL10 SB complete -> weak pair -> two pair
pf: I don't like to complete unsuited connectors. Raise the limpers or muck it, leaning to the latter.
f: a psb is something i do with TPNK/MP on the flop often. If you get callers and don't improve, it's easy to get away from. t&r: fine, but I'd probably bet less on the river. |

Re: NL10 SB complete -> weak pair -> two pair
PF is meh. I would put in a raise here and try to take down small pot. It doesnt look UTG+1 has a hand he really wants to call a raise with. On the flop, I tend to check fold but maybe check call if I have a good read on a bettor that he would bet second or third pair or bluff regularly in position.
Turn lead is ok. You now dont want to give free or cheap cards to random 8, 9, Q, or K. Value bet on river is def. too big, weaker hands will probably not call and if you get raised or something, it may be spew. Make 1/2 PSB. |
