Remote request for BRIDGECONTROL? Hacking?
I use a PPTP tunnel when playing poker. My newly installed Sygate Personal firewall notified me that:
IP 222.73.219.97 is contacting WinMgmt.exe on your computer through port 1073 using protocol/asking for (<- I'm not sure which) BRIDGECONTROL. The IP is not the IP of the PPTP server I'm using. Does this look dangerous? EDIT: This was while playing at BetSafe and doing nothing else. |

If your firewall caught it, you're OK.
I have a server that's connected to the net 24 hours a day. I get a hacking attempt about once a day on average. And there's really nothing you can do other than try to make sure they don't get through. |

Re: Remote request for BRIDGECONTROL? Hacking?
I use two computers. I just saw that on the other computer I have allowed WinMgmt.exe to recieve calls from the internet. How bad is this? Should I change IP and reinstall everything? I have all my money online...
