Default Ak question

Pretty uneventful hand, but is this worth a call ? or do I cut my losses and move on ?

I figured I could possibly be ahead. I had 6 outs plus a backdoor flush draw - so I didn't have odds to call - is that the right kind of thinking here or is it weak ?

Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.05/$0.10 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)

SB: $20.00
BB: $11.00
UTG: $14.10
MP: $10.00
Hero (CO): $10.85
BTN: $4.60

Preflop: Hero is dealt K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (6 Players)
UTG folds, MP checks, Hero raises to $0.50, 3 folds, MP calls $0.40

Flop: ($1.15) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players)
MP bets $0.50, Hero ????

I second Jamougha's response & raise here all day.
Villain could be donking with anything. He could be donking a low pair, overcards, stuff like A2, K8, anything really. I raise here because we are ahead a lot, so I guess for value, and also as a bluff the times we aren't ahead, because he will often fold a paired 2 or paired 8 or something to a raise.

This is a must raise, Mookboi spelled it out pretty well. You may very well even have the best hand right now.

EDIT: wanted to quote your last post.

Thanks for the replies.

So what kind of raise are we talking about? roughly pot ?

If we do raise and he calls - and we miss - I presume we shut down ?

New poster here in micro stakes - moving from MTTs to attempt to eliminate some variance in my life. Anyways...

I think I pot it here on the flop, which might get us a chance to get to the river for free while the pot is still small. I think there's a good chance if we raise here he'll check to us on the turn if any card above the board comes, and if we're not comfortable bluffing it or if we develop a good draw we can check to see a free river. If he 3 bets us on the flop we can then muck. Is this the right kind of reasoning for a raise?

I don't mind a raise here. If you get called and no paint comes on the turn I think you have to check through and hope to river them
