Default Trip Report: Jackson Rancheria Ca.

This is my first trip report and I don't play Indian Casinos very often, this was actually my first. Please bare with me.

The place was nice. For those in Ca, it is near the Stockton/Sacramento area off the 88 & 49 higways. This is a pretty large place with probably 500 hotel rooms. The casino was one floor about the size of a small casino in Vegas or other gambling city. There were plenty of slots and table games, but I was there for a conference, so I had no time for those. The poker room was better than I expected. It was bigger and more filled than the rooms I have seen at Tahoe. There were about 20-30 tables and Friday night had most of them packed.
I played the 3-6 game Fiday night after the meet N greet hosted cocktail session the conference had, so when I got to the table I had plenty of liquid courage and lucky for me, there were plenty of timid fish at the table. I caught good cards in the beginning and about tripled up my $100 buy in after an hour or so. The liquid courage was everlasting and I was playing some rags, but was able to raise people out of pots due to the good cards I was showing down earlier. I got a little too cocky and began donking chips off, so I called it a night after about3 1/2 hours. I played during 9-12 time, so I'd have to say it was about prime time. Most tables were full and they had a few games going. There were about 3 2-4 NL games and maybe 3 3-6 games going an Omaha or two and a few that could have been either. The dealers were good and seemed to kow what they were doing.

The next moring I woke up early and headed back to the poker room about 7:30 AM. Needless to say the only players around were a few old timers and some left over from the night before. There was only one game of 2-4 NL going, and it's not really my game, so I spent my 100 buy in pretty quickly. The players there seemed to call with decent cards or better, no real huge stacks playing any two cards. I played for less than an hour I think. There was one dealer there who I didn't think had a "dealers" grasp on the game. A few times in the short time I was there, the table had to point out somone else's winning hand after she declared the wrong hand as the winner.

I came back later when they had a 3-6 game going. There were about 6 at the table. This was about 3:00 Saturday afternoon. There were two 3-6 games going and maybe 3 2-4 NL games. I went up and down for about two hours and when it was time to leave, I had lost 4 bucks.
As a hotel, the walls were very thin. I could hear my neighbors opening an ice chest. The furnishing were nice enough, and the suite had a nice jacuzzi bath.
The casino was smokey, but clean and pretty well organized. The poker room was pretty well ran. They had their own cage and many TVs showing college games. The staff seemed friendly, and I never saw a floor man have to be called to any table. Good trip overall.
