A8s vs LAGs
Live 4/8
Villain1 is very loose and aggro. He plays probably 60+% of his hands and raises 30+% of those. Likes to bluff. Villain2 is also loose and aggro and is buddies with V1. They play very similar, although V2 probably plays 80% of his hands. I've seen both villains raise/3bet/cap hands as weak as 53s preflop. V3 is loose preflop, and can get aggro postflop w/ draws like OESD or FD, as well as top pair regardless of kicker. V3 is UTG and limps, UTG+1 limps, I limp w/ A8s, Button limps, V1 raises from the SB, V2 3bets from BB, 2 callers to me, I call, button calls, V1 calls. Flop (12 sb): 8 5 3 with two hearts (I don't have a heart) V1 checks, V2 bets, V3 raises, 1 fold, Hero ?? Despite having TPTK against these villains is this still a fold? 3bet now? Call planning to raise a safe turn? *EDIT: Botched up the action, fixed now. |

Re: A8s vs LAGs
i'd fold pf when it's 2 bets back to you. i'd probably call now planning to see what to do on the turn (could be a raise, another call, who knows), although 3betting is feasible also.

Re: A8s vs LAGs
I'd fold the first time preflop because you have no clue how much it's going to cost you to see the flop and this type of hand doesn't play that great in wild games. See the section in HEPFAP.
It's probably close between calling and folding once it gets back to you though with the multiway action. If the villians were normal players as opposed to retards then this is definately a call. On the flop you are starting to see why playing this type of hand against these guys is hard. Normally you have a fair idea where you stand but here you don't really know how likely it is that you are good and you can't even guess how much money it's going to cost to get to showdown. Anyhow, I'm raising for value and for protection. |

Yeah weird how our equity goes down when our opponents have tougher starting hand standards
