Default 2500nl- JJ facing an overbet on rags

About three orbits at the table. Villain has been fairly aggressive, but not maniacal. Shortstack is very donkish.

Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $25 BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FCP)

BB ($408)
UTG ($3505)
MP ($3167)
Button ($2495)
Hero ($2499)

Preflop: Hero is SB with J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] , J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] .
1 fold, MP raises to $85, 1 fold, Hero raises to $280, BB raises to $295, MP raises to $885</font>, Hero calls $605.

Flop: ($2065) 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] , 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] , 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero checks, MP bets $2178

My thinking: He's going to flat-call with a bigger pair than mine. He's probably doing this with big cards.

I'd like advice on preflop as well as flop. I should've mentioned, I'm almost sure I'm stacking off when the flop comes undercards.

Why are you posting then? It really depends on how often villain 4-bets, how light he thinks you will call 4bets, and how often he fires air here on the flop. Personally, if I called preflop I would def be getting it in on this flop. If I didn't feel comfortable getting it in on a low flop like this I would have folded pre
