Flop: 764 rainbow. He checks, I check behing.

Turn: Q

He bets $11, I raise to $35. He calls.

River: 9.

He checks. I bet $65.

Good or bad and why?

don't really like it because you are pretty much only repping Qx/ he will look you up light imo

i love this, bill. villain really shouldnt call with alot of pair + gut or pair + 5 stuff he has, of course you risk running into someone who actually turned a pair (and then you get looked up) but id believe you.

i dont think so, i think alot of people will call the turn raise in order to a. see what happens on the river b. because they had extra equity

since bill both followed through on the river AND the extra equity is squelched, i think he made a good play.

id probably call the turn and fold the river, btw, as a default.

i use this line when i don't think he'd call a flop & turn bet, but will call a turn & river bet.

Its not really whether the villian shouldn't, but will he. IMHO you get called alot here. Im not saying that his call is going to be profitable for him but against an unknown i really dont like this line. I would rather take this line as a bluff after I had shown down a turned top pair with a similar line.

Against an uknown i dont like, vs an unkown I dont assume anything. Especially that they are able to fold a pair.

Also this has been mentioned in other threads but when ppl miss pair and draw type hands (in this case a possible pair and gutter) they tend to call down anyway. This might sound stupid but i see it everyday.

Also snowbank i thought you didnt play HU cause it put you on monkey tilt?

Also this is not meant as a negative, but this is a pretty common line in shorthanded play. But i dont think it translates well into HU play.
