Re: 25nl; Straight on Turn against SS
I wonder if we should take the free card on the flop?

Re: 25nl; Straight on Turn against SS
The turn is, of course, fine. The flop is the question, but I don't hate the c-bet, even into two players (there is that ace to represent). It's probably close, but, to be honest, I think I would check.

Re: 25nl; Straight on Turn against SS
Against short stacks, I usually play hit or miss. If you bet here and he pushes and the other dude folds, you are getting 12:5 or 2.4:1 which is about break even with a straight draw and two cards to come. Marginal. I like the free card since the short stack will pay me off anyway when he has some kind of hand. And the third dude might catch something 2nd best too.

I like it too. I'd put him all-in on the turn though (not that it matters).

Re: 25nl; Straight on Turn against SS
i bet the turn because i'm happy to take the pot here and I want to build the pot for when i hit vs. the non-SS.
Villain has $5.30 or something left on the turn? I would give consideration to betting less. I'm putting him in on any river, and I don't want to scare him away by betting too large. OTOH what scare cards might make him fold the river (arguing we should get it all now)? Finally, and this is an expert play, betting enough to leave him with $0.02 or something for the next hand, rather than busto, amuses me greatly. |

Re: 25nl; Straight on Turn against SS
To be honest, I didn't see villan was SS until turn (rookie error I guess). I bet the flop both to add value to my straight draw and felt out an A in case I miss my draw and hit a Q/J on the turn/river.
I didn't want to small bet / check the turn because I didn't want to let SB draw for a flush cheaply. Great help thanks guys! I'm going to need some time to let all this info marinade. This forum's been great so far! |
