River spot, HH and hypothetical question
The villain here is 27/14/1 over nearly 1k hands. So far at the table I have just been playing standard 22/19 for around 50 hands and have not been seen to be out of line.
Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB (6 handed) Hand History CO ($491.85) Button ($213.95) SB ($348.80) BB ($380.10) UTG ($80) Hero ($200) Preflop: Hero is MP with 3h, Ah. UTG checks, Hero raises to $9, 1 fold, Button calls $9, 2 folds, UTG folds. Flop: ($23) 8h, Qh, 5s (2 players) Hero bets $17, Button calls $17. Turn: ($57) Tc (2 players) Hero bets $41, Button calls $41. River: ($139) Ad (2 players) Hero checks, Button bets $86 Hero?? Here I think that I should have called, as he has played his hand very much like a draw, and that card scares alot of my range so it is good for him to bluff at. Also I feel any other made hands would have either raised earlier or check behind for showdown. Do people agree? Perhaps a more interesting question is what to do in the general situation where a scare card comes that does not help my hand. For instance if I had KK here, he could well have played the nut fd like this, but that is only a small part of his range. Should I call then?? |
