2nd monitor coming up black and white??

I have 2 Dell 2007FPs which work fine together on my desktop computer(windows xp).

Today I unplugged one of them and hooked it up to my laptop (windows vista) and the screen was black and white....? Laptop screen is normal, but external screen is coming up black and white.

This only happens when it is connected to my laptop, however all the color settings are the same for the display screens. My laptop screen color settings are the same as the external monitor settings. Dunno wtf is going on here...
