Default Satellite- No idea how to play this spot

Ten players left with 4 seats available and I'm 3rd in chips. Villain seems pretty solid.

I don't normally play many satellites, so I'm not familiar with the nuances of playing them. Is there any reason to play this differently from a standard MTT?

Knowing the other players stacks would be relevant, but it doesn't look like your big enough to fold into seat.

Shove this.

Without this being a sat this is a shove.

The fact it is makes this more of a shove if you ask me.

1. You've got more FE, because you have him covered and he wont want to risk his stack against you.
2. You don't want to get cute with this hand and re-raise, and then have a tough decision in a big pot against another big stack.
3. You need to accumulate chips still, and you are well ahead of his range, so a call is bad.

Yeah in fact there's yet another reason to shove. The villain is one of your biggest enemies: those with a few fewer chips than you. You do NOT want to give him chips easily.

Regardless though, it looks like you need to keep accumulating to win this satellite so unless the other table looks like:

9k
1k
2k
1.5k
800

I'd say it's a pretty clear shove.

Another reason to shove is, that you show strength in defending your blind. If he folds - most likely he will fold - he will attack your BB with more care.

If he calls you will be most of the time a favorite - and if you win - you can sit back - get a beer - and watch the others struggle while you fall into a seat.

I know this goes against standard tourney strategy, and against the wonderful advice of the rest of the replies, but I have a different perspective.

Obviously, chances are that with a shove, if you get a call, it'll be a coin flip. (unless you get very lucky or VERY unlucky.)

Because this is a Sat, where everyone in the top 4 gets the same prize and the rest get nada, maybe it would be a good idea to just call. If you hit the flop, great, if not, let it go.
For the most part, just play top 10 hands, and play them very carefully.
let the others knock each other out.
I agree that you wont be able to "fold into the seat"
but you can still get it with out having to risk everything on a coin flip.

yes, you can take advantage of the General "bubble" tightening, but the idea isnt to get up another notch, as it would be in a standard tourney, the idea is to survive.
It doesn't matter if by the time you get down to the last 4, you're almost blinded out... you still WIN !
treat every chip as if it's a precious commodity once you get to the final table and just lay low as much as possible.

So.... CALL don't SHOVE.

FWIW, I’ve won seats in numerous Sats by making it to the final table and just laying low as much as possible.
