Default Think I got hacked...please help?

I opened up an ING Direct Orange checking account earlier this year. I used it for a couple of months before finally stopping because I needed to move all my funds to my brick and mortar bank. My last transaction with ING was around May 30th.

I moved in to a new house back at the end of August and we have yet to pay for internet (free wireless off neighbors).

Everything has been running smoothly until this weekend when I receive an e-mail from ING saying that my balance has dropped below zero and they are going to loan me some funds to cover it.

I check my poker e-mail address and find like 5 random e-mails, 3 of which are in Japanese characters and from PayPal saying that my account has been charged XXX amount of dollars.

I update my antivirus and adaware programs daily and run daily scans of each as well.

They have not touched any other finances except for my ING Direct account.

I have since called ING and a credit union to let them know I was a victim of fraud/identity theft.

Was being on a wireless network enough to allow my ING Direct account to get hacked?

if you dont pay attention to ING's cert then someone could just setup rogue dns and steal your nfo.

dont use other people's network if you dont know what you're doing.

While you do show some traces of having once had malware, it doesn't appear you currently have been hacked or have any current remote administration/trojan/backdoor on your system. Did you removed any malware after your apparent robbery or recently? Or could this just be unrelated?

Could you describe your problem a little further? From what i gleamed from it, it seems you had someone withdraw money from your paypal account? Is that it? What happened with your ING account?

Basically, I ran a ton of adaware/virus scans after the situation occured before posting the log.

Basically, my ING account got broke in to and somehow they used my virtual visa or w/e to buy some things MMORPG related and send them to someone via PayPal.

Then, today when I went to the PayPal site to report unauthorized transactions it said they were invalid ID #s?

It sounds like you went to a paypal phishing site and that's how they got your info.

Just how much trust do you have with those whose network you are sharing?

I don't really know my neighbors, just know that there are like 4 different random networks that I can access.

I highly doubt your neighbors networks had anything to do with this. Most likely you got phished and someone stole your paypal info although it is possible you downloaded some malware that logged your financial info. Change all your passwords from a secure computer and notify your financial institutions of possible theft. Continue to monitor your financial statements and accounts and continue to clean your computer. Try a Kaspersky online virus scan for a second opinion or Trend Micro's Housecall.
