Villain is more or less an unknown though we've been playing a couple hours. The rest of the but table has been immersed in some pretty deep action so the fact that he hasn't gotten involved frequently(or gotten to showdown) made me feel that he couldn't have too loose of a range here, though I did make the mental note that he was the first to coldcall a raise once. He chops, is pretty quiet, and indeed asian.

Preflop: Villain calls UTG, All fold, Hero checks 43o in BB.

Flop: 774r
Hero bets, Villain raises, Hero...

Somewhat interested in your line here, but more interested in your plan for the big streets.

I fold. Pot is small, villain likely has a pocket pair bigger than your 4s and the next card's going to make your hand difficult to play. My plan is to not play the bigger streets since I doubt he has 4-2.

Yeah, just fold. The only thing you beat is 56 and he doesn't seem the type to have that here.

while you're getting the sweet odds of 1.9-1 effectively to call down, i think it's time to make a big fold. sure, he might be pushing you around with 33 or 42, but the time comes in every good player's session when you just gotta make that huge laydown.

seriously, the pot is tiny. we have a crap hand. we are against an UTG limper that is going to include a bunch of better pocket pairs in his range. time to let it go. allow him to think he can force you to fold(say he is bluffing or raising a worse hand) and bring the hammer down later in a pot that means something.

You just about always have 2 outs, the pot is small and you're out of postion. Why bother?

Fold without thinking too much about it and move on.

I just fold. I think he very often has a small or medium pocket pair here. I can't see a quiet live player limping 56 here, nor, can I see him playing a hand w/ just overcards this way either, he would be much more likely to just call w/ overs here.

So yea I think often enough you are up against another pocket pair here, and its safe to just let this go. No need to put yourself in tough or future tough spot on later streets.
