Default Sets vs. Continuous? Your reasons.

I have been playing sets of 4 $33's and my roomate who just began playing again is swearing I should play continuous. He swears his concentration is better and it helps his game.

What do ya'll play and why? Also, am I an idiot for not playing continuous as it should increase my $/hr.

I do sets of 4's, I do better less hectic that way if they dont all make it to the bubble although I can see the advantage of continuous. Maybe I will convert I never thought about it before...

If you are trying to switch from sets to continuous you can try staggering when you start them so they don't all become short handed at the same time. This will keep it less hectic and before long you will be wondering why you ever played in sets.

Sets. I get more time to focus on ITM/HU. I also don't like to sit and grind several hours in a row without a break. I like taking 5 minutes between each set.

I used to like to play sets, primarily because all the games were just about at the same blind level and that made it easier for me to process the position at each table quickly. It can get hectic if all four get to the bubble or in the money (I know: a problem you're happy to deal with). Also, it can get a little boring if you are out sort of quickly in a couple. Recently I have been playing mostly continuous. Unless I happen to get my first four games to the bubble. Then I usually let them play themselves out before starting up some new ones -- of course, these days that seldom happens.

Obviously, you will get in more per hour if you play continuous. And, that should mean more $/hour unless something about continuous throws you off your game.
