Default Early Position K-K?

I'm playing at a VERY LAG table when I pick up KK in the sb. There are about five limpers behind me, so when the action gets back to me, i raise it up to about 6xbb. Everyone mucked, and I picked up the pot. I'm looking for advice about whether or not such a large pf raise with 5 limpers (in a lag game) is the right kind of move. I'm obviously looking to prevent a cheap ace from calling with a 4xbb raise, but I'm not sure if the 6xbb raise is excessive, and thus killed the action for me. Advice? I realize this is probably a stupid question but i can't answer it for myself.

Thanks

5 limpers? I raise to 10xbb from SB. 6 with 5 limpers is just like an open min raise... Way too low.

You said this was a LAG table? Doesn't sound like it is in the least bit. To answer your question, no 6BB is not excessive with a family pot brewing. You dont want a JT or QT os geting in there cheap and spiking two pair or better on you.
