50 NL, folding flopped flushes?
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)
Button ($18.65) SB ($22.80) BB ($54.85) UTG ($86.35) UTG+1 ($75.60) MP1 ($14.90) Hero ($53.10) MP3 ($93.95) CO ($72.30) Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG calls $0.50, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, Hero calls $0.50, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, Button calls $0.50, SB completes, BB checks. Flop: ($2.50) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(5 players)</font> <font color="#CC3333">SB bets $1</font>, <font color="#CC3333">BB raises to $4.25</font>, UTG folds, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $11</font>, Button folds, SB folds, <font color="#CC3333">BB raises to $54.35</font>, Hero ?? the hand is boring. i just decided to post a hand simply for ease of viewing. but i more want a general discussion of flushes at this level: how often do u fold here (if ever) knowing nothing about an opponent? do people have a rule about never folding Q or K high but will fold J high or lower? |

Re: 50 NL, folding flopped flushes?
I think you have to call this unless BB is a super nit. Sets and 2 pair are very likely. Plus, you've got a backup one-outer for the straight flush! Any reads?
My only "rule" is that rules such as "never fold X-high flush" are stupid and useless. As with everything in poker, it depends on the situation. There's no shortcuts or easy rules to follow. |

haha...someone accidentally had their gimmick logged in. I think its pretty bad to fold any flush on the flop basically ever. This is a pretty easy call in my mind.

It's not accidental.
