Preflop: Hero is CO with 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].

if you have no reads your 88 belongs in the muck.

cold calling is terrible though - 3 bet or fold preflop.

because you made such a mess of things preflop, i'm at a loss of what to do on the flop. i guess you could put someone on a better overpair and fold.

PS says you have decent equity here against reasonable ranges for villains but they sure are playing that flop hard aren't they?

I guess I think a bigger pair is easily part of MP3's range and consistent with his play. Also a flush draw is consistent with SB's play. I think I can let this go here and fell OK about it even if I was wrong. This looks like it could be expensive if we are stubborn with it.

no way i cold call 88 in co its a 3 bet or a fold. As played I fold the flop.

OP, you have any books ... look at the sections dealing with mid pockets

and perhaps run some 2+2 searches looking for 66-99

Fold PF.

Fold the flop. Even if you're ahead now, you won't win often enough to justify calling 2-3 BB to a showdown.
