Default Hit the straight, but facing all in on paired board

10/20 NL at the Commerce
Hero has 5K, Villain covers
Villain is winning pro, tough player
Hero has been playing pretty LAG, though nothing major out of line
hero limps UTG with QJss, villain in UTG+ 1 limps, MP limps, SB compltes, BB checks
Flop: 10 9 5
Hero bets 100, villain raises to 400, Hero calls
Turn: 5
Hero checks, Villain bets 600, Hero calls
River: 8
Hero bets 800, Villain pushes all in, Hero...

Thoughts on all streets appreciated. Is this a fold on the turn? Is this a call on the river?

OMFG comes to mind. Seriously, what the hell compelled you to call on the flop? 2-1 on your money for ~4-1 odds to hit your straight, but even then you may not be good if the board pairs.

Perhaps you called for implied odds? If so, there is NOOOOO way you're calling turn.

The river is an easy fold. The overbet all-in screams a full house. Calling the flop is marginal as your hand is somewhat face up and he seems to have you pegged on a st dr, which is why he put in a small bet on the turn when he filled up. Btw, is the board suited?

So what are you saying ?

His play is too obvious? He limps, leads flop and calls a raise so it's pretty obvious he has a str draw. The way he is getting paid is if villain has at least a set which is unlikely in any case and he probably still only gets paid if the board pairs, so why bother getting involved?

So how do you change his play? Don't ever play QJ? Don't play the QJ? Chk fold the flop vs villain? If so, what are you looking to flop with QJ? QJx? Just curious.

i think he is saying open limp utg with QJ is horrible and then calling down when villain lays him bad odds is not so hot either. continuing after the board pairs is questionable too.

Questionable? Yeah, but definitely not "horrible" if the table has been passive and you're not expecting anyone to raise behind. Flop is fine too.
Continuing after the board pairs is definitely horrible, however, and river isn't any better. Check-fold turn, if you still somehow manage to get to the river (say, the Villain plays it tricky and checks hoping you catch the card to break you!), check-call. Managing to go broke for 200bb+ in an unraised pot is kinda funny, though.
