Default HU 2-4 nl cash

this hand happened a while ago so it may be lacking some of the necessary info I had available to me at the time. so it might be a silly hand to post given it depends a lot on how the game was being played but i'll give it a shot.

I was taking it to villain pretty good at this point. I called his all in on the river with 4th pair for a 1k pot. since then he has changed his style up significantly and gotten much more loose, aggro, and sloppy. nontheless hes still a thinking player, not great, but typically solid. shouldnt i be prepared to call this river if im calling the turn(unless its a spade)?

I ruled out two pair for the most part except mayyybe a4. I thought a flush was possible but he may easily play it way fast on the flop. he INSTA shoved river. At the time i had more flow/bet sizing and game dynamic info going on, so if theres nothing to be gained from analyzing this hand lemme know.

what is there to say really? I can see him having a flush/2pair/set here, so this is all about reads.

usually when the game dynamic has shown that you like to make heroic calls, I think it is advisable to switch every close decision between call/fold to fold since he expects you to call way more and will in turn bluff less and value bet more. I mean, unless he is in over agrro bluff/tilf mode I think you should fold here given description.

You Know whats a little funny to me.

I wonder how he got 4x BI here. Probably by dumb play like you just showed us. I don't understand what you want to rep. here.

wtf? hero has 4BI, not villain, and his play isn't dumb.

OP - I fold, but I'm not much of a hero caller.

I guess there's a couple straight draws that didn't get there, but not enough to call.

Has he been floating you with no piece of the board a lot? That's the only time I'd call I think.

This is a hand where you have to trust your instincts. In a vacuum, it is a fold, but only you played villain so I guess noone can give you a good advice on this hand. I can just advice you to trust your insticts as long as you know they are really insticts and not just some guess.
