Why shove bottomset? If we shove, a flush calls and all other hands fold. What about checking here, hoping for a bet/semibluff by villain with something like lower set or TP and call then?
Just interested...

Eh, no. Plenty of worse hands call, especially if they are donks.

Awful. You miss a ton of value because top pair will very rarely bet. Check-calling ensures that you will lose the maximum when behind and win the minimum when ahead.

At least by shoving you also win the maximum when ahead.

Thanks for explanation Sabr, that kind of thinking seems to make sense! I owe you a drink...

Bet more on the turn...river is an obvious shove.

Why did you not just bet the pot on the flop? I don't see any reason to be 20 instead of 25. That makes the pot 10 bucks larger on the turn and allows you to get the money in faster.

threads13, do you bet $25 with AK, AQ, 55, JJ etc aswell in that spot? $20 is fine.

Sure... my bets are in typically in a fluid range that is based on flop texture, the opponent, the hand, etc...

I don't see why you would want to bet $5 less.

[i]Edit: To clarify, I am not saying that betting $20 is absolutely horrific or anything. I am just saying that if you are going to bet 20... why not bet 25?
