Uneven distro between $6 and $2 9max FTP SNGs

After some recent coaching in the MTT forums and beginners forums I have tightened up my game considerably. After getting on a nice roll in the $1 SNGs (cashing about 80% while winning about half of those) I decided to take a shot and started playing $2 and $6 SNGs. Looking at my HUD stats they are vastly different ($6 my VPIP is around 30 with TAF at 1.5-1.6 range while $2 SNGs my numbers are actually more in line with my tightening with VPIP around 25 and TAF around 1.7-1.8). Before the recent lectures I got from assorted members of this board my overall VPIP was 39+ and my TAF was 1 so I've made some drastic changes to my game. Are these tournament results a matter of good results short term with a bad game, me finding the style of play I'm comfortable with, variance, any other ideas?
