Screen flicker 2000fp

I have a 2000fp that the screen will flicker every now and then a nd make a noise like a floresent bulb turning on. Can this be fixed or am I out a moniter. some times it dims or cuts out.......I turn off, wait three seconds and turn back on. Works fine for a while.

By the way I have a 2001 also and it is 10x better.....
