I am still new to ring games and was just wondering if I should have tried to value bet this river. I had him on a flush draw making a river bet seem pointless, but i'm not sure. No reads, he just sat down.

standard. Given drawy flop id probably bet closer to pot. I think draws make up huge portion of villians range so 2nd barrel is good for value/protection but i dont see any value in a river bet really.

i like a larger flop bet and 1/2 pot on the river.

yeah bigger on flop and 6 on river. Its not really that thin the guy probably isn't very good and the board is good for it.

There is nothing that I feel is in his range that you beat that you can get value out of. Really, does he show up here with 77 or K8 very often? I wouldnt think so unless you have a read.

I agree w/ Orange bet river. Villan C/C 2 streets and checks river? I think you can throw 33-77 into his range as well as 98s-10/8s.

Also - to it WASaDREAM:
What do you think he'd check at the river that beats you? 99-JJ? At 25 NL I highly doubt he c/c's these overpairs on 3 streets. I think rivers like these are great for 1/3 - 1/2 pot v-bets.

I dont feel like a river bet is necessary here, whats he going to call you with, Ace high? You have SD value, no need to turn your hand into a bluff
