is my river bet good here? someone explain the intricacies, plz.

BB bets $1, Hero calls $1.

Turn: ($4.10) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB bets $3, Hero calls $3.

River: ($10.10) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $5?

I think I would make the same river bet, you have two pair and as I see it, Villain might well payoff a half pot value bet with AK or AJ. The only draw that hit was if Villain has KJ which is not the most likely holding. Other than that you are only worried about a set or AQ, would they check on the river? Maybe, but I think AK, AJ is more likely, so I think a value bet is appropriate here.

It is a very easy bet on the river, nice size also, you beat all 2pair hands except AQ. The only possible draw that got there is slightly unlikely. However, after this action I would seriously dump it even to a check/miniraise. That line is just too trappy here.

If he raises this bet, then I think I can find a fold here, standard Villains won't raise here without a hand that beats I would say.

If Villain had bet into you, I would probably just call as again I wouldn't expect Villain to call with a worse hand like 1 pair (mind you, I am often surprised).
