Re: [NL200] 88 overplayed?
Only bit I like is the cont bet, don't like the reraise or the call all in.
I'd say definately overplayed. I suppose you're gonna post results shoeing it was an awesome play but 9/10 this sucks. |

Re: [NL200] 88 overplayed?
WIthout reads this is terrible. He might even be turning his JJ or whatever into a bluff and still actually have the best hand.

Re: [NL200] 88 overplayed?
Yeah, this is pretty atrocious. What are you hoping to see here... AQ? 55? Maybe the first response is right and you're just doing this because your opponent was terrible and this was the 1 out of 20 times when you're not destroyed, but in general I think you're just giving away money.

Re: [NL200] 88 overplayed?
Grossly overplayed. 3 betting preflop is ok as long as you know how to manage yourself postflop. Calling AI in this spot is pretty awful against all but the crappiest opponents.
Here is a hand where its ok against a crazy crazy aggro spewtard: Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $1/$2 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter) SB: $215.60 BB: $32.70 UTG: $422.90 CO: $239.40 Hero (BTN): $684.70 Preflop: Hero is dealt 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 Players) 2 folds, Hero calls $2.00, SB raises to $12.00, BB folds, Hero calls $10.00 Flop: ($26) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players) SB bets $26.00, Hero calls $26.00 Turn: ($78) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players) SB bets all-in for $177.60, Hero calls $177.60 River: ($433.20) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players - 1 All-In) Pot Size: $433.20 ($3 Rake) SB had 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (two pair, Jacks and Threes) and LOST (-$215.60) Hero had 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (two pair, Jacks and Nines) and WON (+$214.60) I think a like a line of: preflop: Call. Flop: one overcard, check, call the cbet for value. Turn: if blank, lead for around 2/3 pot. I find this line works fairly well against average opponents, but obviously don't try it against good players or you will get owned. |
