Default Fun w/ Unimproved 22

Bellagio 30-60 game. This is the best I've ever seen this game. UTG is an old guy who does weird things - two hands earlier limp re-raised preflop, checked the flop, then check-folded the turn (lowball board), Button is very loose and passive preflop and VERY straightforward postflop. SB is a laggy guy in his 30s, but not crazy laggy, just likes action. He knows when to slow down though and is capable of folding.

Preflop:
UTG limps, MP1 raises, MP2 3-bets, Button hos and hums and calls (his hand is very not good), SB calls, The Dude calls in the BB with 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG now decides to 4-bet, everyone calls.

Flop: (24 SBs) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6 Players)
Checked to UTG who bets, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, Button calls, SB calls, The Dude calls.

Turn: (14 BBs) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 Players)
SB checks, The Dude donks, planning on folding to a raise.

I would fold this preflop for two cold in the BB, esp with a 5 bet cap. As played, I probably peel on the flop like you do considering the odds offered, but I would just check-fold the turn when I missed considering this bet will take down the pot pretty much never and you might price yourself into making another hopeless bluff on the end.

But I think the fold preflop is pretty clear.

Preflop is pretty close. I think I fold 22-33 and call with 44+ (more straights).

The problem with the turn bet to me is although it'll probably be judged authentic, it hits your opponents ranges pretty good too, and I think they always decide you have just 1 pair kings. That means you're going to have to put another bet on the river.

Your idea of fun must be very different than mine.

Preflop, I fold, especially since UTG is weird and might 4-bet and maybe it gets capped behind him.

Your turn bet has a good enough chance, I think, of taking down the pot to make it worth a shot. The problem with playing 2-2 is that they can miss their draws here and still beat you on the river when they pair up. What's your plan if one or more call here?

In a 6 way pot preflop I'm never folding no matter who caps it or where, that seems crazy to me getting almost correct straight "flop a set" odds and good implied.

When was this? I was in the 30 game for a few times this weekend, and I won each time...

Meh, I know small pocket pairs go up in value in games like this, but with 2-2 OOP you get your ass in a ringer all too often. One of the reasons I stopped looking at the 2nd card when my first card was a deuce was that I lost set over set much more often with deuces than with any other pair (duh). And too many overcards keep coming. Course, I didn't play as well then as I do now. So now I look. Then I fold.

I like it up to the donk. That makes no sense to me.

Is there some tiny flicker of hope that you can take it down? I guess so. But I don't think it happens often enough. Note that you aren't really representing anything, and the pot is huge. I mean, really, what would you say your range is here when you donk the turn? Could you possibly have a K? A set? It seems that you virtually have to be bluffing.

That doesn't mean that your opponents are going to figure it out of course, but it certainly isn't encouraging. I'd say the stars have to line up just right to take a pot this big down without a showdown, and trying to make it happen when your hand makes no sense doesn't seem like good timing.

my 2 cents.

pre-flop I can't call because UTG is a spaztard who thinks the lead aggressor has an edge so he is prone to 4-bet to get the field smaller. Even if he isn't there MP1 is a huge variable, what if he woke up with a hand? Closing the action I call all day long. If MP1 is passive enough to not 4-bet with AK, JJ, TT, etc then I probably call. But with UTG a huge variable its in the muck.

Turn - Does your hand look like AK? I'm not so sure that it does.... not a fan of the leading bet into a field of 3 opponents because its unbelievable.
