How Badly did I play this......
Final Table of The Ferguson last night....
Any advice on what i should have done differently is greatly appreciated? Should I have mucked it after the flop or went over the top. Re: How Badly did I play this......
preflop: fine
flop: i'd really consider check/shoving the flop with your open-ended straight-draw. as played here your decision on the river is hard, but i think you have to fold - AK,AQ or a straight is too likely. |

Re: How Badly did I play this......
firing the turn after check calling the flop might seem fishy to him so I like leading out here and shoving his raise or check raising him on the flop. the way you played it to the river i would fold to his all in

Re: How Badly did I play this......
I check raise this flop all [censored] day without a single bit of thought unless I know that my opponent is super nitty. I mean, what more do you want here? You check, you're facing a standard cont. bet, you have FE in a nice pot, and you most likely have ~11 outs. I don't mind a call, however, OOP, a Q or a K isn't pleasant right now if you hit it on the turn.
The river, ugggh, it sucks, but everything got there. AJ checks behind, so does KJ. J10 probably checks behind as well, but who knows. A busted flush draw may do this, but those don't rep. a whole bunch of combinations (esp. with Js and 10s out there) + one of them just hit that beats you (AsQs). So, nothing realy missed. Fold. Re: How Badly did I play this......
You always got to wonder about a river overbet... It's either a monster or a hugh bluff...

If u think button will always c-bet, your stack is good for a c/r AI on the flop. Button has played this hand very passively so far...min raise pre, 1/2 pot c-bet on flop. When you shove over his flop bet, u have a lot of FE since you're only laying him about 1.6 to 1 to call. If button is more passive, you can lead out for a PSB, then call if he shoves, getting 2 to 1 with overcards + your draw. Some players would consider 3-betting pre...i like calling, but playing a little more aggressively post flop. |
