i think you're lucky the tribe was horrible for a month after the break, or else this 6 game lead would've been 12...injuries are hurting you some, too..

we're not mathematically out of it yet, but i think the players really need to get themselves in the right state of mind. injuries can only explain so much of our problems, sunday nights game was extra bad.

i guess our best hope is to go on a sick tear in the last 25 games, and hope that either Cleveland completely collapses, or Seattle and New York play .500 ball through the end of the year. neither scenario is likely, but stranger things have happened.

I've grown up a huge Tigers fan. Saturdays game made me sick. How can they start Maybin in CF and move Granderson to LF? That pisses my off more than anything. Granderson should probably be 4-5th in the MVP voting and is a gold glove caliber center fielder and he gets moved to LF because Maybin is pathetic at LF. Whats Maybin do in CF? He drops a routine fly ball and falls down almost missing another, all while hitting ~.150. I cannot believe there is a player on the team worse than Monroe was. Not to mention their pitching.

and neither is Michigan mathematically out of the national title run.

Ok, I realize our chances are quite that dire but after Sunday's game you can't honestly say you are still optimistic. Cleveland is playing playoff baseball now. The Yankees and Mariners are playing playoff baseball. We're, once again, playing our worst baseball of the year at the most important time, except this year we don't have a huge lead to blow.

not even out of the first week of september and the sports season is totally [censored].

and no, I don't give a [censored] about the shock.

i guess i'm not really optimistic, just clinging to my last thread of cautious hopefulness.

and the shock have good fundamentals, which makes up for their inability to dunk! Right?
