A standard TAG isn't gonna 3-bet you light from UTG+1 when you raise UTG. I mean, it just doesn't happen.

I really don't want to go broke here, so if the turn blanks, do I check/fold or bet/fold?

Check folding seems like I'm begging for him to take the pot, and bet folding gets over 1/2 my stack in the pot (but I guess saving 1/2 stack is better than going broke).

How much should I bet?
