I've been playing primarily nl holdem lately - cash games and MTTs (online and home). I've read HOH I and II, SS (1), the Daugherty/McEvoy book, and a whole bunch of limit books when I was playing limit holdem.
I like the sound of both Kill Phil and the Little Green Book. So which one deserves my money, considering I only want to buy one? |

Buying just one is silly, what is $20????
If you only have time to read one right now (A MUCH better reason to get only one), I would go with Kill Phil, it provides good insights into 'longball', LGB is just a lighter version of HOH I (IMHO). BUT, you should really read both. Margon |

The Green book is available on CD. Therefore, you can "read" both it and KP at the same time, if you're a multi-tasker.

It doesn't matter. They're both good reads but don't really fall into any kind of specific order.

The Little Green Book will help you out with cash games where as Kill Phil won't. I liked both of them alot but I think LGB would get my vote. If you take a long crap you can finish it so time shouldn't be an issue but you may have to read it again to absorb the finer points.

Little Green Book takes you through the thought procces of playing Tournament Poker. I really liked it.
Kill Phill is ok, but it is more geared to the lesser skilled players. Ghost |

On second thought, this is the best advice....
If you master HoH I & II, you won't need Kill Phil, and at the same time you will already know everything in LGB. (I have 14 poker books, all of which are highly regarded here at 2+2, but if someone really came down to it, you only need 6 - HoH 1, HoH 2, ToP, HEPFAP, SSHE, Psy of Poker. Mastery of these 6 will put you in an elite group of people.) Margon |

I think these study groups are a great idea and I look forward to participating. That said... I would vote for The Little Green Book, since I already own it
