Default Running bad (not all mindless whining and a plea for help)

Last three session have all gone pretty much the exact same way. Card dead, maybe 66 or 44 or AKo that whiffs, ground down to nothing and bled dry, only to be rivered on the last hand (ie: my made flush getting boated, and yesterday, the topper, holding KJo and hitting broadway on the river with the A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (formerly my favorite card) which gave the villain his flush.
The last two sessions I started with $40 and a $20 short buy. This always forces tight play on my part, because I don't want my lunch hour to take fifteen minutes. I don't think I turned back to my weak-tight former days, but I wonder...
Anyone have any experience playing a 5-150 or 10-150 game? I think for tighter players this turns into almost a NL game, and you can protect your hands better PF and eliminate a lot of the chasing.
Sorry if boring or in the wrong place...

Am I to understand that you play poker on your lunch hour so these losing "sessions" are only one hour long? So you're in the midst of a 3 hour losing streak? FWIW, I've had at least 3 sessions where it has taken me over / or almost 3 hours to win my first hand, it happens.

Also, what limit are you playing? Most people (although I know not all) recommend having at least 12 BBs in front of you at all times (for unlikely cap/cap/cap/cap situation). Do you find yourself going "all-in" very often?

3/6 limit. Not all in too often. My cards have just been so bad that I'm waiting for something decent to invest in.. and then losing when I do. I literally have won one hand the last three times.. holding Qs7s I caught a 7 on the turn with overs everywhere and it checked through four ways!

Count, is gobbledygook correct in his inference that your downswing has lasted all of about 3 hours? Live?

Um, i think the plan is to keep playing. I think everyone here can confirm that a 3 hour stretch without winning so much as a single pot is commonplace. I'm currently on a 50 big bet down swing in my 6/12 live game, and that's lasted through about 15 hours of play.

Count, as a frame of reference, I've had a 40k-hand breakeven stretch in my career, and that's surely nowhere near the longest. You're talking about maybe 100 hands here.

(Yeah, live is different than online. Still, this is a drop in the bucket).
