college football: what do you think when you see this on sportscenter?
A LSU fan posted this on another board I frequent. I thought it was hilarious, but the anti-SEC crowd considered it petty. What do you think? Also, who decides what graphics to put up there? |

Whatever. The BCS has ruined CFB IMO. A playoff gives you a meaningful champion. The old bowl system gave you meaningful bowls with tradition, etc. The BCS gives you neither. It's truly the worst of both worlds.

LOL, pretty soon ESPN can just wipe LSU's title from the record books. They can do one of those things where all the fans vote about who would have won between the two teams, and then maybe simulate it with a computer game and declare USC the official champion of 2003.

I do not find our (WSU's) retarded decision to play a team that is going to roll us to open the season funny at all. Where is Montana St. when you need them?
Also USC would have ROLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLED USC that year. |

I pretty much knew we were going to lose to Penn State but it was the [censored] Rose Bowl! The next time Oregon outright won the conference the BCS chose Nebraska for the national title game and we had to play in the Fiesta Bowl against Colorado. That was an awesome experience as well and the game was more entertaining for a duck fan, but basically as you said it sucked because despite winning the Pac 10 and being ranked second nationally we didn't get a chance to play in the Rose Bowl or for the national title. |

Re: college football: what do you think when you see this on sportscen
Is the issue that people think ESPN is pro-USC or just that they're dumb? Perhaps it's because I'm on the east coast, but I don't think they've really come close to "Duke basketball" overexposure and I doubt LSU wouldn't get the same love had they played in as many title games since.

How many celebrities do you see at field level at LSU games? ESPN isn't in the sports reporting business anymore, they're in the entertainment business. |

[/ QUOTE ] Agree completely w/ the first & last sentence...I just don't think the celebrities have anything to do with it. Personally I find the time they allocate to the Dallas "haven't won a playoff game in 11 years" Cowboys more reprehensible. |
