Sharapova's Red Sparkling U.S. Open "dress"

Maria's match is being shown live right now on USA Networks. The front of the red dress/tennis outfit, around the neck, is sparkles. I'm thinking this would be a huge distraction if I were her opponent. This certainly must be a first in tennis.

My thoughts exactly. Especially in tennis where something catching your attention out of the corner of your eye could alter your swing at the ball.

As for distraction, perhaps, but also her opponent isn't a mute, if she's got a problem she can speak up. It would be pretty sweet if she spent an entire game in the closed off area in center at Wrigley Field and catches the eye of the batter every pitch.

if I was Sharapova I'd be like "WTF I'm going to finish you off bad" after this clown I'm playing in the first round absolutely freaks out after winning a game when I'm up 6-0, 5-0

there was a ball that was probably out on deuce that Sharapova should've challenged but the announcers were all "she can't risk her credibility challenging" - this isn't a sewing circle people
