Greg Maddux
I don't understand why Greg Maddux is not getting more attention. He just moved into 8th place by himself on the win list with his 343rd. Will he start getting more attention next year when he passes Roger Clemens and approaches Kid Nichols?
I haven't seen much written on the sports sites about him, until he posted his 10th win to give him double digits for 20 years in a row. This guy is a marvel and has a legitimate chance of getting himself into the top 5 on the wins list if he plays two more seasons(needs 22 wins to pass Pud Galvin for sole possession of 5th). For those that say he is washed up, he is 3-0 with a 1.93 era and a sub 1.0 whip in his last 3 starts over 18 2/3. |

I don't know, good question. Maybe it's because the guy is so vanilla he goes unnoticed.

Re: Greg Maddux
I've always thought he was kind of spotlight shy, or maybe the media thinks he isn't as interesting as other guys. He was certainly one of the 2-3 best pitchers of his generation, and hopefully for his sake he doesn't really like all of the attention. I met him at the mall a few years ago and he seemed like a really down to Earth guy, a few of my friends worked at his home golf course when he lived in ATL and they said he always treated people well and just seemed reserved and polite.
I always liked him a lot, he kind of epitomized the attitude of the mid-90's ATL Braves. |

Re: Greg Maddux
he's not the pitcher he once was, but the guy is still a legit MLB starter. kudos to him, amazing longevity.
