20/40NL live game, at commerce. Villain's playing 20k, I'm playing 16k. Villain has already been felted by Bobby Hoff in the game for a 30k pot, and is stuck I'd say 10-20k, and does not seem to be playing as well as earlier in the session. Although I think he's a pro, and he seems to have a good understanding of the game (definitely played TAGish at first, but I think he's been playing more pots since the felting so probably LAG now, but nothing too out of line). Anyways...
He live straddles, I'm UTG with AA, i make it 280, folded to him, he calls. Flop JT7 rainbow, he checks I check. (Comments on flop check welcomed) Turn: Ac bringing two clubs. He bets 300, I make it 1300, he makes it 6300... |

I cannot see myself letting this go, on account of villain being good enough at handreading (likely) to see that you very likely do not have a straight and thus you're eiehter value-raising two pair/set or raising with air.
Throw that together with villain being stuck, looser, and maybe tilty, cant see how u dont shove. but welcome to hear other opinions. |

If I call, and river blanks, do you call a shove?

if the river doesn't brick, you have a big decision. I'd shove now. There is some fold equity, not to mention hopefully a draw that doesn't get there.

![]() pretty sick spot. so his raise is 5000 more into a pot of 3200--had you seen him make oversized raises before? any clue what the overbet means? in any case, i'd call turn and call river shove. |

i hadnt played with villain enough to know what oversize raises mean... but mikech that was exactly why its so scary. With most semi-bluff hands, don't you think the reraise would be much closer to pot size? This is really the only size reraise that makes the pot significantly smaller then an all-in riv bet. It really makes the aces shrink I feel like in a live poker game. Is that huge over-pot size reraise, with significant $$ behind still, ever not the nuts? (in this case i shoved, and he call with QK) I was wondering what people thought...

i think shove is pretty terrible. it's between call and fold, IMO. but there's enough chance you're good and you have enough equity when you're not to call, given implied odds. But I might fold to a shove this deep. He'd have to worry about you having the nuts...
