Default MX Air

Maybe I suck at search. Anyways, anyone using one of these for pokers? I'm thinking about ordering one, but have read mixed reviews.

this would be my first foray into the world of gyroscopic mice, and since i've been reading mixed reviews about it am kinda hesitant in getting one. has anyone actually used a gyroscopic mouse before?

Well, I went ahead and bought one. It arrived today, about 3 hours ago.

My take:
As a desk mouse it's pretty good, better than what I had been using, but nothing special.

It's pretty difficult to use the 'air' functionality for web browsing, text editing, drawing, CAD, whatever, to the point where it's pretty retarded to try. It would work well for presentations, but not much else in the real world.

I fully expected this, and am not surprised either way.

BUT, as a sit-on-your-ass-with-your-hand-resting-on-your-knee-point-and-click-poker-stick, it's awesome. The grip and action are very wiimote-like, and I imagine it's much better for you than a desk mouse from a tendonitis/capral tunnel point of view.

The drawbacks are the scroll bar:
I'd rather have a physical click-wheel. I think the touch bar is ok, and might just take some getting used to.

and the drift:
There is no wii-like sensor bar to ensure proper orientation with the screen. This is ok though, as it allows for you to point the mouse wherever you want. Not ideal, but much easier to cope with than some of the amazon reviews indicate.

Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase. Once 1440p comes out, I will be playing poker from my couch fullfilling the same physical tasks required for channel surfing.

cliff notes:
got mouse. works good on desk. works ok in air: awesome for poker, good for presentations, good for media, bad for anything else.

Good point. I play 3-4 tables (hu-sh limit). I imagine with many more it could get annoying. I've only played a short ~30 minute sessions with it, but I like it so far. I'll play a few hours tonight, and post what I think of it after that.
