Default Planning a perfect crime

I have an unhealthy addiction to Masterminds, which is a show on Court TV that tells you exactly how various heists and robbing sprees were committed. This has lead me to constantly think about how to rob a bank in my hometown. We all know the reason most criminals are caught is because of their own stupidity and not the genius of the local police. An example, I knew two guys in high school who robbed a local eatery for quite a bit of money. They then bragged about it to their girlfriends who ratted them out when they broke up.

Anyways, OOT has 95 of the smartest 100 people in the country. I think everyone here should be able to come up with a plan on how to rob some place in their hometown. It can be anything, your plan can be anything. Create something that for a one time shot would be foolproof. Also include what about your specific town would make this work. An example of mine is that it is spread out over huge area but the small population leads to not many cops on patrol.

Don't rush it, I will post my prefect plan after I wake up. Put your minds to work!!

Disclaimer- If you actually are going to preform a robbery, it would be good to leave yourself out of this thread. Don't be that guy who gets caught becuase he wanted the accolades of an internet forum.

#1) Don't rob a place in your hometown. You're too likely to be recognized.

#2) Have a solid alibi, but don't trust someone to lie for you.

Actually, don't trust anyone. The reason these plans always fall apart is because one lowlevel guy gets caught and he rats on everyone else.

1) It's just you doing it
2) You tell absolutely no one about it
3) You have a clear way to getting rid of any items used without trace (eg access to a furnace)
4) you wear covering clothes/mask/gloves at all times, bought with cash from several locations

That's how to stop being traced after the crime is over - sorry, haven't actually got the crime you can do...

This would be good for a one time shot, at least in some of the areas close to where I live.

"Uhh, wallet inspector!"

I think if you rob something big. You have to not tell ANYBODY. And also resist the temptation to get rid of the stolen goods/money straight after. Last week somebody robbed £50 million in cash from some security depot in Kent. Their general plan was ruthless but perfect (it involved kidnapping the depot owner and his family, making him open the vault etc) but then they've been apprehended, it appears, trying to open an account with some of the stolen money, only about £1000. If they'd have just gone back to their normal lives, left the £50 million somewhere safe and out of the way for a year or two, then began to launder it, i bet they would've stood a much better chance of getting away with it.

If i was going to rob something in my village it'd be probably be hijacking a delivery lorry on the way to a pub. Theres lots of old people, but robbing old people is low.
