Difficult situation: with hands like AA, KK, QQ he would have reraised PF, perhaps even pushed. Still, his range is pretty threatening here. 99 is in there, KQ, AQ, player dependent even QJ. Yet, not CBing here has two disadvantages IMO. First, if he's aggressive he pushes or at least bets anyway if you check in front of him. Second, if you just check, he can, if he wants, take a free card. If he is holding like KJs, AKs, TJ (less probable as you have two J already), there are just too many cards that could help him.
So, I CB here, hoping to take the pot down and call if he pushes.

No offense but your opening question is pretty silly. You can't possibly be advocating leading out for something like $14 and then folding for a shove of $19 more versus a donk?

Meh.

I think I check here. If he gives us a free card, we can determine what to do on the turn. However, if he bets, I'd check out his bet size. If he bets like he's wanting to get it in, I'd let it go. If it's some small bet, I'd crai.

It's not about he giving us a free card, but whether we should give HIM a free card, and we should not.
