Default Advice for new limit player

After starting out a few months ago and losing a little , I've finally turned into a winning sng player (all I mainly played before). I've done some NL cash and had some decent success, but since my roll has never been that big, I figured bonus whoring might benefit me a bit (and limit I've been told is a faster way to clear everything). What advice can you give a new limit player (articles, books to read, anything)? I tried limit once (1/2) and was up $80 fairly quick, then proceeded to lose about $200 (combo of bad beats/bad tilt management). I noticed at this level it's call call call...a big problem is knowing when to back off on the betting, or to keep value betting. Any advice is appreciated.

1. Read the FAQ.
2. Don't ask too general questions.
3. Read and reply to a lot of the posts here, post a hand yourself every now and then.
4. I'm pretty sure that the general consensus is that LHE is a lousy way to build your roll, so if your only goal is to build a roll as quickly as possible this is not the way to go.
5. Value bet the calling stations relentlessly.
6. Don't bluff the calling stations.

I agree with all mvoss has said. You can start full ring, it's easier at very low stakes because there is less difficult decisions. You can read Small Stakes Hold 'em: Winning Big With Expert Play in order to learn the basis.

LHE is not a good way to build a bankroll but i think it's a good one to learn poker.

I am mainly using it for bonus whoring (unless there are other games you recommend for it). Once I get my roll up, I will most likely move to NL cash games (after bonus whoring)..

Why is this? If you're a SS player, then whoring and RB play a much more significant role in roll-building, and LHE is probably the best for whoring and RB.

What would you suggest as the best game to build your roll? I also assume you mean there are different games that are better for roll-building and better for grinding?

kimchi, I haven't done any research on this myself I just remember reading more than one thread where people agreed that LLHE is a much slower way to build your roll than NL cash, SNG's or Omaha.

I'm not exactly sure how fast the bonus clears at NL compared to LHE, but I do know that you can get in A LOT more hands grinding NL than LHE.
