Default 200NL - my overpair gets shoved on the turn. *puke*

villain is unknown and I'm new to table. I should note that I expect the average unknown at the site where I play to be a fish.

Blinds: $1/$2
5 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
UTG: $236.70
CO: $200.00
Button: $120.60
Hero: $259.15
BB: $331.25

Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is SB with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
UTG calls, CO (poster) checks, Button folds, Hero raises to $11, BB calls, UTG calls, CO folds.

Flop: 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($35, 3 players)
Hero bets $32, BB folds, UTG calls.

Turn: 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($99, 2 players)
Hero bets $80, UTG raises all-in $192.7, Hero_______?

pretty sick but I fold. Diamonds, 9T, set...tons beat you, not so much you're ahead of. And you don't even have Kd, not that it'd necessarily change much.

I'm guessing he has Axd though, not much else calls the flop

gross. leaning towards a fold b/c if he's getting out of line w/a pair+fd it probably would have happened on the flop

Dude, you are a mod. Rather than just dropping a one-liner, please elaborate at least a little .

I agree with Orange on bet sizing. By betting almost full pot on flop and turn you are seemingly trying to commit yourself to the pot, but then you want to fold when raised. I would generally only bet this much if I wanted to get all-in no matter what. By betting a little smaller you have an exit strategy so it's eaiser to fold when you're raised like this. So I probably bet a little less, especially on the turn, probably fold to the raise.

looks like a fold. you bet super strong on the flop and turn and he still raised your turn bet.

I think betting large on the flop is pretty standard, no? It's a very drawy flop, and there are two opponents in the pot. Maybe 28-30 is good enough.

wrt turn, I agree that I should bet a little smaller.

Our hand strength isn't that great. If we're faced with any resistance we're gonna be in trouble. If you get to the river without getting raised and no diamond comes and you check and are faced with a big riverbet you'll still be in trouble very often.

So the point is to not bet so much so that lesser hands can barely stay in the hand. We've had a couple threads lately where people bet really hard on monotone boards and get into trouble.

Another tip I have is to raise more preflop. You're oop with one pair and you don't want many people in.
