What better spot? this guy could be pushing any pair, any ace, any king, some queens and even a few suited connectors. He's UTG+1 with les than 3 BBs, he's going to be crippled in a couple of hands and he knows it so he's desperate.

Against his range you are a big favourite, and you aren't going to get the seat without playing a few more hands.

if hero was in late position i think this could be a good argument but if someone wakes up with a big PP in late position then hero is finished. so why bother risking it?

very easy push

you are too short to tumble into the seats, so this is a great place to double up and get a seat.

...if you don't like risks you should play chess...

Monsters under the bed... Yes, you'll get looked up by better hands, but you can't worry about that. You can't get the seat by folding in, so by definition you must find +cEV spots to increase your stack and give yourself a better shot at the seat. This is one of those spots.

Push.

depends a lot on your table. The problem with the push here is that you're likely dominated or in a coinflip if no one else comes along. You said yourself its a guaranteed small payout and 44th gets paid the same as 1st. If you can successfully steal in late position(which you should be able to do considering the stacks behind you), you may want to let this go. You much rather be the initial pusher with 2-3 stacks behind you with 88 than overpush with 6 guys behind.

Why?? He's got 2 and 1/2 bbs, in a couple of hands he'll be in the bb and be pot committed with ATC. How on earth can you put him on such a tight range?

Any pair and any ace is definitely in his range, as is any king. I wouldn't be suprised if he was pushing suited connectors as well.
