Democratic held Congress approval down to 18%
This is far worse than the Bush/Republican approval rates of Congress prior to the Dem's taking control.
Is this solely attributable to the Democratic Party - running and winning Congress - on a pull our troops from Iraq platform and now Hillary is talking about staying another 20-24 months? Apparently Hillary & Co. are now spouting the same stuff Bush/Cronies were about civil strife if we pull out now. EN |

EN [/ QUOTE ] I think people may be getting sick of the "same old, same old" and the BS coming from from both parties' politicians. Maybe Ron Paul has a snowball's chance after all. Regarding Iraq: it seems to me that both parties' major candidates are roughly equally clueless and equally full of baloney, and I think the American public is realizing this. Iraq is failed experiment, let's cut the losses, the only thing democracy will produce in the Middle East is the tyranny of Shari'a law and theocracy instead of the tyranny of dictatorships. Which is worse and why should we care? Let's get the heck out of their affairs and stay out! Let the Shi'ites and Sunnis resolve their differences on their own terms. The USA is like a baseball referee trying to stop two teams of pit bulls from fighting to decide which pack will be Alpha. The ref can't stop the conflict and will only keep getting hurt by staying in the way. |

Good, I feel disgusted that I was happy that the dems took over last year. People really want out of this war, but daddy dems are telling us we can't. It's really frustrating stuff.

Re: Democratic held Congress approval down to 18%
It's very simple:
* They were elected to stop Bush's abuses, hold him and his cronies accountable, and get us out of Iraq. * Congress is, so far, seen as having done very little except bluster and make empty threats. Now, whether that perception is accurate remains to be seen. I personally believe that Leahy and Conyers, in particular, are laying a lot of groundwork for criminal charges against Bush cabinet members. I also happen to think this is the correct approach. But it's an uphill battle. The corporate press is going to sabotage the Dems every step of the way -- just as they have done for thirty years running. Meanwhile, the blue dogs are going to stab the Dems in the back, and the big money interests are going to turn the screws on any Dem who threatens the Republican gravy train. q/q |

One viewing of The Daily Show tells us all we need to know about congress. They're all crazy, they're all fanatic and they all have the integrity of an emu.
