Default NL 50 against a likely tilted player

SB has had huge swings in this session (from 300 to 0) and became quite aggressive in the chat box against some other players (I was left on my own tough).

CO ($26.95)
Hero ($52.05)
SB ($51.30)
BB ($47.25)
UTG ($65.45)
UTG+1 ($57.70)
MP1 ($132)
MP2 ($47.10)
MP3 ($6.75)

Preflop: Hero is Button with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].

Flop: ($9.50) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks.

Turn: ($9.50) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $3.5, SB raises to $7, Hero calls $3.50.

River: ($23.50) 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB bets $22, Hero raises to $40.55, SB calls $17.80 (All-In).

Final Pot: $103.10

Bet more on the turn. It makes it easier to get it all in.

Other than that, looks good.

He flipped over AJo to rake a nice pot, but that's not the point. I tought in the post mortem analisys I had been too aggressive, but from you answers it seems not...

Whats up with the turn bet? You have the nuts in a 3bet pot.

I was behind the whole hand...

I feel sometimes I'm throwing away money with loose calls preflops followed by reckless actions. Am I just result oriented?

But your read was the title of this post a "tilted opponent" It sucks that you were behind but betting more on the turn isn't reckless against a tilted opponent especially with a strong hand like you had. It's more profitable more often than not. I think you are being results-oriented.

You're being results oriented. You got mini-cooled, it sucks, but versus the guy you described, you're in a great spot here 90% of the time. Betting line seems fine, turn bet could be bigger.

Turn bet could be stronger for sure.

On the river, I don't think the shove is wrong particularly, but I actually prefer a smooth call. If you didn't think the villain was tilting I would definitely prefer a river call given the line. That 3-bet/check line is so often either a weakly played AK or a flopped monster. When he min-raises your turn bet, it's not AK. When he fires out the PSB on the river, I expect to see middling preflop hands like JT, KJ, QJ, AJ, 55, 88 a lot more than AA or KK.

This just doesn't read like AA or KK. Those hands aren't min-raising (or close to it) pre-flop and they aren't checking the flop.
