Re: 10/20 nl tough spot with QQ
villain can have alot of hands, i prob just shove the turn but its the perfect river and you have to call.
You have to be good like 30% so you deff have the right odds to call. |

Re: 10/20 nl tough spot with QQ
Pretty tough to put villian on a hand here. We can tighten up a range with some more info maybe...
Live or online - I'm guessing live but just to be sure Table image(s) - How long have you been at this table with villian? Anyway...on to the hand. I don't like the turn play here at all. If villain has flopped an open end straight or flush draw we are giving him a free card to make his hand. Unless you are very confident that you will be able to make this read and correctly bet/call/fold I don't see how checking the turn is to our advantage. So we are now in a spot where villian has bet $1230 into a $1370 pot and has either got air (AK) or a set of jacks. My vote would be the set but I am biased because I run into more sets than any human being alive...lol |

Re: 10/20 nl tough spot with QQ
I had been at the table for about an hour and the table had been pretty solid. It was online. I have seen villain b4 and he seems generally solid although slightly overvalues hands. Also the 1230 all in was into a 2020 pot.
The reason i check turn is because of the range of hands i am putting villain on (although i may be wrong). I cant see him calling my reraise oop pre flop with kq or any2 diamonds other than ak diamonds so i dont put him on a draw. Also the flop bet is 1/3 of his stack so with draw surely he reraises all in? I therefore put him on a set... |

Re: 10/20 nl tough spot with QQ
you have to call. You bet the flop, checked the turn (bad) and a blank comes on the river. How has the Villian's hand been changed? If you are beat, you were beat on the flop. If you think he has AA or a set, muck. If you think he's pushing a river bluff on a solid table from a guy who has shown strength, you have to call.

Re: 10/20 nl tough spot with QQ
Hmm I dont mind betting the turn, but I can see why you didnt do it. I think your check behind line is probably better in the end. River I think is a call. Giving up with QQ on the turn here (check/folding the rest of the way) sucks. Unless a scare card comes that is.
