I had only been playing at this table for a few hands before this one, so I didn't have any strong reads on any of my opponents. I originally limped in from the button because I had seen a lot of raising from BB. I proceeded to check-raise to knock BB off any mediocre hand i.e. K-9 where a raise might've been pertinent if BB had suspected weakness. I bet pretty big on the flop because an over to J-J will come after the flop around 50% of the time (Ken Warren Teaches Texas Hold 'Em) without any overs on the flop. Any thoughts? |

convert your hands next time, its easier to read
im not too experienced, but i would say first of all, if you were there only a few hands, you shouldnt be assuming that there is a lot of raising going from BB. You should've raised from pre-flop more, to find out where your opponent is at. After already making that mistake, when you were already in the post-flop situation, I think the bet was okay, but the call was bad. If your opponent re-raises you taht much, adn you have no info, rather fold, then make an unknoweldgable loss... again im unexperienced.. lets see waht the otehrs have to say |

I think you played it fine, dont really know any other way of avoiding all the money going in.

I think bet a little less on the flop so your not so committed. Bet maybe $4.5 and fold to the shove.

I definitely see where you're coming from fish, in regards to the all-in call, but it seemed more likely to me that villain might have had 8-8, 9-9, or 10-10, which would explain why he didn't re raise me pf. I wasn't quite committed after the $6 bet, I think, but I still thought my hand was best, as it beat all of the aforementioned hands and perhaps even an overplayed A-K who misread me. I guess I'm looking for feedback on where I missed the signs that it wasn't a strong over pair like T-T or an over played A-Ks. Would still appreciate any thoughts and feedback. Thanks!
