Default $22 STT SNG: flop decision on the bubble

Here's a hand my buddy played, and we debated the decision after a reraise. What do you guys think here?

Full Tilt Poker Game #3308287692: $20 + $2 Sit & Go (25300366), Table 1 - 80/160 - No Limit Hold'em - 4:54:38 ET - 2007/08/20
Seat 3: BigSexyPnut (5,885)
Seat 4: OUR HERO (3,845)
Seat 5: mikeblackman (2,930)
Seat 8: gb9style (840)
BigSexyPnut posts the small blind of 80
OUR HERO posts the big blind of 160
The button is in seat #8
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to OUR HERO [Js 7c]
mikeblackman folds
gb9style folds
BigSexyPnut calls 80
OUR HERO has 15 seconds left to act
OUR HERO raises to 480
BigSexyPnut calls 320
POT IS NOW 960

*** FLOP *** [Jd Td Jc]
BigSexyPnut checks
OUR HERO bets 500
BigSexyPnut raises to 2,460

OUR HERO now has trips on the flop, but is being reraise all in here. He has a chance to double, but also has a chance to finish fourth. What is the right play? The chip leader hasn't been overly aggressive til this point, but at the same time, some chip leaders threaten players with elimination at the bubble? What is the play here?

Wow, PF raise is really horrible here... What were you trying to achieve raising chip leader with such a crap on the bubble?
As played, meh, I'd probably push&pray, but I really hate the whole play...

Pre-flop is awful, as played I'd call all in with a fist pump.

Ya, I talked to my bud too about the PF raise, and he totally regretted it. He was basically hoping to just take the pot PF to the SB limp.

I don't agree with alot of my buddies plays, but thats why we talk about them, cause I can learn from a style thats different from mine. He doesn't do the whole posting thing, so I'm doing it for him

Is your buddy a winning player? Because it makes no sense to learn from a losing style if he's not.

To be honest, he's a struggling break even player, but he has come a long way and he's developing. He has a good attitude about learning, which makes him a good person to discuss poker with.

Stop looking at his horrid play, and focus on improving your own. 'nuff said.
