Default Low limit stud8 hand

I was dabbling in HORSE and played this hand. On fifth I may no longer have the best low draw, but I think my equity three-way is good enough for a bet, but should I jam if it comes raised back to me? On 6th my logic was that I gave myself a better shot at backing into high by making two pair if it's heads-up. And in retrospect, what do you guys think of bluffing the river since I can't beat his board?

If you're going to raise sixth here I think you need to follow through on the river. You're certainly indicating you can beat tens, and if that's all he ends up with he may fold.

I think that's thinking too deep for .25/.50 though (or 10/20 for that matter) and you should just call sixth.

Honestly, i don't understand the raise on third street. At those limits I want as many people in as possible with that hand and then go from there.

I'd just call 6th street. You're still drawing...you should want to attract an overcaller with your hand/draw as raising it here might very well knock out the player who was showing high cards.

If this was 5th street, however, I would raise with your hand, but with just one card to come, your odds obviously go down, and your're probably not going to be able to bluff this river and be successful with it either. Nah, if he liked his hand enough to fire out a bet this late in the hand, he's showing it down at the end, too, especially at these limits where they're not going to be thinking at a level that you might be at, so.

Exactly. Raising on third is a huge mistake at those levels.

I have found betting 6th/7th there is -EV, because never will a person lay a hand down. Also, betting sevens into open KQ and such is generally not that great, without the A kicker. You can make that bet WHEN you have trips, because they won't fold. (Of course you have the gutshot here which makes it a bit different.)

... Hopefully this helped even a little. I'm a little bit everywhere in this post.

calling 3rd a huge mistake is a bit of an overstatement I think. Getting the bring in out can't hurt you too much, but I would want to suited cards in my hand to raise here.

Is a bet on 5th really mandatory? If seat four is going low he has a pretty good draw.

The raise on 3rd isn't terrible, but it does tie all callers to the pot on 4th, even lows that brick.

5th is iffy. If you check behind you give seat 4 a free card to a possible 6, but if you bet you might lose the 3rd player who is donating half his money to you the times you make your low.

No reason at all to raise 6th. All it accomplishes is making a hand fold that you want to call.

Not raising third here is criminal.

Flat call 3rd. Don't raise 6th.
