blind defense chapter 1
Ok people, don't be too hard on me. The biggest leak of my game is the bleeding from the blinds. From now on I am planing to try and fix this be reraising people w/ very high ATS. If it is obv a steal I am planning to rr w/ any two and if called most of the time not cbet. So far so good. Now I need your help
Party Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter) Hero (SB): $100.50 BB: $50.80 UTG: $71.43 MP: $104.85 CO: $13.68 BTN: $156.86 Reads: 50 / 19 / 2,0 / ATS 45 Preflop: Hero is dealt 6 K (6 Players) 3 folds, BTN raises to $4.00, Hero raises to $13.50, BB folds, BTN calls $9.50 Flop: ($28) 6 A 5 (2 Players) Hero bets $19.50, BTN calls $19.50 // Here I thought if he has an ace I will be 50 / 50 and so I cbet. Turn: ($67) 9 (2 Players) Hero bets all-in for $67.50, BTN calls $67.50 //Turn doesn't do it but we both have just a PSB left. If my 9 flush outs and my 5 Two Pair & Trips outs are good i have around 30% Equity, i need 33% to call. So I think I would have called and so I shove hoping to get a small portion of FE. Maybe I will perhaps get a and like AT to fold. In retrospect pokerstove says i am right and my opponent should have folded but what do you think here? I def. have to bet that flop. Should I c / f turn? So please help me. |

Re: blind defense chapter 1
oli1980,
'the biggest leak of my game is the bleeding from the blinds....' 'if it as obv steal I am planning on rr with ATC....' Somehow I'm not sure the second sentence fixes the first. It may just compound it. As for the hand, it is played fine. You probably are almost never folding AT here (atleast at these limits) but that doesn't matter. Often he will be floating this flop hoping you check turn so he can bet. Other times he may have a weaker 6/FD/SD (in which K high is winning). And the times he has you beat and doesn't fold, you have plenty of equity in this pot to be committing your stack. |

Re: blind defense chapter 1
I don't think you should try to defend your blind against villains that are very unlikely to fold.

Re: blind defense chapter 1
when u have 95% fold bb to steal you better start defending with better hands than K6s, what is really really questionable imo
and vs this villain its even worse, because he will call you with a lot more hands than a normal player would do, so select your hands better to defend |

Re: blind defense chapter 1
Why is he unlikey to fold?
I just wanted to 3bet b/c his ATS is so high. Wouldn't go far w/ a hand like that unless I hit a flop like that. But most of the time i guess villan will fold. What would better hands be? In the past I folded everything AQ- b/c I might be dominated. rr w/ AJ+ KJ+ scs? |

Re: blind defense chapter 1
fold button is on the left, just use it. believe it or not, blind defense isn't where you make money at the table

Re: blind defense chapter 1
If I fold every blind i am making - 2,25 PTBB/100 Hands. That's not the right way eighter.

Re: blind defense chapter 1
I don't like the defense here against this villain. at 50/19 he is just begging to give you his cash, so pick a better spot than K6s and allow him to play Santa.
Having said that, I like the way you played the rest of the hand, especially if the villain had been a reg, but against a station who shows up here with Ax here always, and is folding it never, I think you're better off getting your money in after you've hit since he's likely calling regardless. |

Re: blind defense chapter 1
Ok. So against very loose players I should one 3bet w/ a hand and against regulars I can do it w/ weaker hand because they might fold lighter if they don't have a very good hand. Agree?
