From reading his blog it sounds like he just lost interest in poker and gain interest in other things (Scrabble and writing).

I think the birth of his daughter was the number 1 factor, along with the stuff that bruno said

lost interest in poker = burned out?

Is it like a Ben Affleck-thing where he quit poker cold turkey when got married and had a kid (probably at his wife's urging)?

I mean, we're all willing to admit that poker is an addiction like booze, drugs, or whatever, right? It takes up large quantities of time, and wives hate it because it risks a lot of cash...

He said he had a $200,000 losing year entering tournaments and that factored into his decision.
